Rupture was a site-specific installation on the Convocation Stairs at the Burnaby Mountain campus of Simon Fraser University, designed by Arthur Erickson. A fake crack was created on the concrete stairs using black tape. Situated at the very site of student protests in the 1960s, the installation playfully engaged the relationship between ideology and architecture in the context of the institution of the university.
